Where it stands

Pre-release. All three build rounds are done and tested offline. Before launch it needs a name and trademark check, the signing key, a store, live tracker tests and a public repository.

Thingstead indexes your coding-agent sessions so you can search every prompt, answer, file and commit across projects and machines, link sessions to your tracker cards, see what's gone stale and what never got a card, and get yesterday's work as a digest, without handing your transcripts to anyone. Today it reads Claude Code session transcripts, and more agent formats are planned.

Who it's for

Developers who run many coding-agent sessions across more than one machine and want them searchable and tied to their tracker, on hardware they control.

What it does

• Search every session: full-text search over prompts, answers, tools, files, commits and pull requests, across every project, with snippets and filters.
• Readable titles and tags (project, branch, tracker keys, languages, tools) that survive re-indexing.
• Link to your tracker: each card shows its sessions and each session shows its card, suggested with a reason and written only after you confirm the exact payload. GitHub Issues is free; Jira and Trello are Pro.
• Roadmap (Pro): lanes per project with what each card's sessions actually did, with stale cards and untracked work flagged.
• Daily digest (Pro): what every session did yesterday, as Markdown, an Obsidian daily note, a Discord thread or an email.
• Many machines (Pro): a small agent on each machine pushes redacted, signed metadata to a hub you run, with one UI for all of them.
• Resume anywhere: attach the live pane or start on the right machine, and it refuses to start a second copy of a live session.
• Obsidian export: one note per session, card and project, with frontmatter and wikilinks.

What it keeps, and where

Thingstead runs on your machine, reads transcripts read-only, keeps its index in your home directory, and sends nothing anywhere until you set up a tracker, a digest destination, a hub or a language model command. Everything it sends passes one redaction gate first.
